The Thrall Tigerettes varsity volleyball team defeated the C.H. Yoe Yoemen in straight sets, 3-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 22, securing their fourth consecutive victory.
The win improved the Tigerettes’ record to 28-6 overall and 9-2 in district play.
Though Thrall swept the match, it wasn’t without challenges. The Tigerettes edged out a 27-25 win in a closely contested first set before taking control with a dominant 25-14 victory in the second. They closed out the match with a hard-fought 26-24 triumph in the final set. Junior middle hitter Brynn Leschber led the charge offensively, tallying 19 kills.
Sophomore hitter Ellie Schmidt and junior middle hitter Cynthia Flourney-Walker also made significant contributions, combining for 12 kills.
With the victory, Thrall remains in second place in the district standings, trailing only top-ranked Franklin. The Tigerettes will look to finish the regular season strong as they travel to face Little River Academy on Friday, Oct. 25 at 4:30 p.m. In their previous meeting, Thrall secured a 3-1 win over the Lady Bees.
