The Taylor Economic Development Corporation’s new Building Improvement Grant Program encourages local businesses to improve their exterior infrastructure.
One of the main goals of the BIG Program is to help businesses look more aesthetically appealing to the community, residents and visitors.
With a $200,000 budget, the BIG Program will reimburse 50% of a project up to $15,000 or up to $25,000 if the business incorporates green design standards for the improvements. Improvements eligible for funding include but are not limited to the following items: facade rehabilitation, outdoor signage, exterior treatments such as brick, tile, stucco, stone, wood or siding, canopies and window awnings.
To apply, businesses must be commercial property owners or tenants located in Taylor, must be up to date on all municipal taxes, must not have any liens filed against the property and comply with all state and city laws and regulations.
“The TEDC values our local business community. This program demonstrates our desire to partner with local businesses to help their facilities look the best they can, thus creating a more welcoming atmosphere for clients or customers to Taylor,” said Betty Day, TEDC chairperson, in a news release.
