The St. Mary’s Rams six-man football team lost its first district game of the season, 75-56, to the Methodist Children’s Home Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 18. It was a hard-fought shootout, but the Rams were unable to keep the Bulldogs out of the end zone.

Junior all-purpose player London Bickman gave the St.

Mary’s defense problems all game as they searched for answers.

Bickman ended the game with 451 yards and 11 total touchdowns in a monstrous performance. Senior all-purpose players Ethan Britten and Ty Zimmerhanzel led the Rams' offense. Britten had 214 total yards and four touchdowns, while Zimmerhanzel tallied 171 yards and three touchdowns.

Zimmerhanzel also had nine tackles and an interception to go along with another impressive offensive showing.

It was a disappointing defensive outing for St. Mary’s, which was coming off its best showing all season, allowing just six points. The Rams will now look to bounce back and finish strong as they go on the road to face St. Paul’s Prep on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
