The Thrall Tigers varsity football team suffered a 51-21 defeat against the Blanco Panthers on Friday, Oct. 18, marking their second consecutive loss as they continue to search for their first district win of the season.
Defensive struggles persisted for the Tigers, who allowed the Panthers to control the game on the ground.
This followed a difficult outing the previous week, where Thrall fell 70-7 to Lexington.
Despite the defensive setbacks, the offense showed some bright spots.
Senior quarterback Chance Parker threw for 109 yards and a touchdown, connecting consistently with senior wide receiver Landon Gregory, who led the team with 125 receiving yards and a touchdown. Senior running back Avery Gomez provided a spark in the rushing attack, accumulating 56 yards on the ground and scoring twice. The Tigers fell to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in district play, while Blanco improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the district.
Thrall will aim to get back on track when they host the Comfort Bobcats on Friday, Oct.
25. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
