The Taylor Ducks varsity volleyball team suffered a tough 3-2 loss to Jarrell on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Ducks fell to 6-25 overall and 2-6 in district play, while the Cougars improved to 19-16 overall and 4-5 in district.
It was a highly competitive matchup, with Taylor dropping the first set 25-20 but evening the score with a 25-22 win in the second set. The Cougars then secured a dominant 25-13 victory in the third set before the Ducks forced a fifth set with a 25-22 win. Taylor ultimately lost 15-8 in the deciding set.
Despite the loss, the Ducks showed improvement from their first matchup against Jarrell, which ended in a 3-1 defeat in four sets.
Taylor will look to finish the season strong, hosting Burnet on Friday, Oct. 18, before going on the road against Gateway College Preparatory on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Both matches are set for 6 p.m.
