The Thrall Tigerettes varsity volleyball team defeated the Rockdale Tigers 3-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Tigerettes improved to 24-8 overall and 7-2 in district play, while the Tigers fell to 5-19 overall and 0-9 in the district.
Thrall lost the first set 25-20, but it was all Tigerettes after that, as they went on to win the next three sets 25-18, 25-15, and 25-20. Junior middle hitter Brynn Leschber led the team in kills. Other key players included junior setter Kinley Hoffman and junior middle hitter Cynthia Flournoy-Walker.
The Tigerettes are regaining momentum, winning two straight after a 3-0 loss to Franklin on Oct. 8. The Girls Coaches Association had Thrall ranked No. 13 in Texas Class 3A before the loss. The Tigerettes will look to climb back into the rankings as they aim to finish the regular season on a high note.
Thrall will travel to Rogers on Friday, Oct. 18, at 4:30 p.m. before hosting C.H. Yoe on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m.
