The St. Mary’s Rams sixman football team defeated the Dallas Academy Bulldogs 55-6 on Friday, Oct. 11, marking their second consecutive win after dropping the first four out-of-conference games. The Rams’ offense shined, scoring 55 points behind a dominant rushing attack led by senior all-purpose player Ty Zimmerhanzel, who racked up 143 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Other key contributors included freshman all-purpose player Ridge Lossen, who added 58 yards and a touchdown, and junior all-purpose player Steven Reyes, who tallied 71 rushing yards.
Defensively, it was the Rams’ best performance of the season, allowing a season-low six points— ten times fewer than their average points allowed. Notable defensive efforts came from Zimmerhanzel and senior defensive end Khasen Wilson.
St. Mary’s now stands at 2-4 overall and 2-0 in district play. The Rams will aim to extend their winning streak when they host Methodist Children’s Home on Friday, Oct. 18.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Taylor Memorial Field.
