Suspected murder-suicide reported near Hutto

HUTTO — The violent deaths of a couple found with knife and gunshot wounds is being classified as a suspected murder-suicide, according to a statement from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

No identities have been released in the tragic episode, which investigators said grew out of a domestic dispute.

However, there is no “continuing” threat to the public, deputies added.

Meanwhile, Hutto police said they have specialists ready to help those in need before a dire situation spirals out of control.

According to investigators, deputies were called to an address in the 4000 block of CR 130 at 1 a.m. Oct. 4, an area in Hutto’s extraterritorial jurisdiction that falls under the sheriff’s jurisdiction.

“Upon investigation, (deputies) found an adult male and female couple deceased from knife and gunshot wounds stemming from a domestic dispute between the two of them,” the statement reads.

Investigators Tuesday said no further information in the case is being released at this time.

In Hutto, Police Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough said the city has resources ready to deal with episodes at home or with individuals that could turn violent or tragic.

“Something I consider to be really valuable is our crisis support and victim-services specialists,” Yarbrough said. “They can provide services before situations spiral out of hand, and they have resources for people undergoing issues including domestic abuse and suicide ideation. You just need to reach out to us, and we’ll help.”

The Police Department’s 24-hour, non-emergency number is 512-846-2200.
