Ducks come up short versus Mustangs

The Taylor Ducks varsity volleyball team lost in a close battle 3-2 versus the Marble Falls Mustangs on Tuesday, Oct. 1. This is the Ducks fourth straight loss as they fall to 5-23 overall and 1-4.

This was a match that could have gone either way as both teams battled, needing a fifth set to decide the winner. Marble Falls started out with a couple of dominant set wins 25-12, 25-16, but the Ducks fought back winning the next two sets 25-21 and 25-20. However, Taylor’s comeback effort would come up short as the Mustangs would win the final set 15-6.

Some top performers for the Ducks have been senior middle/ outside hitter Haley Harms, junior libero Makenna Watson and junior setter Payton Wamble. All three of these players have had historic seasons so far but will need to continue to play their best volleyball if the Ducks want to salvage the season.

Taylor will continue district play hosting Salada on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. before facing Lampasas at home on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.
