The Thrall Tigerettes varsity volleyball team continued its hot streak with a 3-1 win over the Little River Academy Bumblebees on Tuesday, Oct. 1. This marks the fifth straight win for the Tigerettes as they continue their impressive season.
The matchup was back and forth as Thrall won the first set 25-21. The second and third sets went long as neither team could gain a two-point advantage. The Tigerettes edged out the second set 28-26, but the Bumblebees took the third set 27-25. Thrall closed the match with a dominant 25-14 win in the final set.
The Tigerettes entered last week as the No. 17-ranked Class 3A volleyball team in the state, according to the Texas Girls Coaches Association, and have now improved to No. 15 in the same poll. Top performers for Thrall have included senior outside hitter Amber Kevil, senior setter Emily Holybee and junior libero Kinley Hoffman.
The Tigerettes improved to 21-7 overall and 5-1 in district play. They will look to continue their win streak when they travel to Franklin on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. before returning home to face Lexington on Friday, Oct. 11 at 4:30 p.m.
