Rams seek first win versus Warriors

The St. Mary’s Rams six-man football team will go on the road to take on the Waco Christian Warriors on Friday, Oct. 4. The Rams are coming off a bye week, while the Warriors lost its first game of the season versus the Grace Academy.

Both offenses have been impressive this season as St. Mary’s averages 49.5 points per game, while Waco Christian has scored 44.4 a game so far this season. Senior all-purpose player Ty Zimmerhanzel leads the Ram’s offense accounting for 1,573 yards and seven touchdowns on the year. Senior quarterback Daylin Harvey leads the Warriors offense throwing for 529 yards and ten touchdowns.

Some other notable players for the Rams are senior quarterback Kolbe Barta and senior all-purpose player Ethan Britten. Barta has 150 passing yards on the year, while Britten has accumulated 515 total yards and four touchdowns.

The St. Mary’s defense will be heavily tested as they have struggled this season giving up 72 points per game. This will be a major point of emphasis as the Rams need to improve in this area to get their first win of the season.

The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at Chilton ISD.
