Tigerettes stay hot, defeat Rogers

The Thrall Tigerettes varsity volleyball team defeated the Rogers Eagles in straight sets 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept 24.

This win improved Thrall’s overall record to an impressive 19-7 and 3-1 in district play. The Eagles fell to 11-11 on the year.

The Tigerettes were dominant throughout, defeating Rogers 25-12 in the first set before winning 25-15 and then finishing the match with a 25-21 win in the last set.

Some top players for the Tigerettes this season have been senior outside hitter Amber Kevil, senior setter Emily Holybee and junior libero Kinley Hoffman.

Thrall has won seven of its last eight matchups and is starting to get state recognition as the Texas Girls Coaches Association ranked Thrall the #17 best 3A team in Texas.

Still, Thrall is third in the district behind Little River Academy and Franklin.

The Tigerettes will look to settle the score with these top two teams as they take on Little River Academy at home on Tuesday, Oct. 1 before heading to Franklin next Tuesday, Oct 8. Both games will be played at 6 p.m.
