Most evenings were spent playing board and card games, especially Scrabble with her children.

When her children were younger, she spent the weekends hanging with either her brother Johnny making funny memories, or sister Ruth Ann playing games or her sister Alice just sitting around making small talk.

Later in life, Joyce loved to travel with her husband Edward to Shreveport, Louisiana and enjoyed playing Mexican Bingo with Edward’s family. Joyce loved spending holidays with her children, especially the JJ Pokorny Family Reunion each year.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hamlin and Ruth Susan; sisters, Betty Jane Zimmerhanzel and Ruby Roznovak; and a brother, Johnny T. Susan.
