HUTTO – At least 1/3 of house fires that begin with a Christmas tree going up in flames occur in January, that’s according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Waste Management - Williamson County Landfill is providing residents with a free recycling service so that this type of hazard can be avoided. All you have to do is drop-off your tree without any ornaments or lights until Jan. 21
The landfill is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon and closed on Sundays.
