Pedaling to beat breast cancer

Hundreds will be peddaling in Taylor to help beat breast cancer for the 2024 Texas Mamma Jamma Ride on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Texas Mamma Jamma Ride is an annual charity bike ride that raises funds for breast cancer screenings in support of the Lone Star Circle of Care’s Big Pink Bus, which provides affordable screenings to underserved and uninsured Central Texans, according to a news release.

This year’s ride will begin and finish at Murphy Park, where there will be a pavilion with lunch, Texas Beer Co. beer and Tito’s cocktails for cyclists to celebrate crossing the finish line.

This year’s routes will also have staggered start times: • 7:30 a.m.; 70-mile route

• 8:15 a.m.; 50-mile route

• 8:30 a.m.; survivor photo and opening ceremony • 9 a.m.; 25-mile route

• 9:30 a.m.; 15-mile route Cyclists of all skill levels are encouraged to participate, and registration will be open until the day of the event.
