The Thrall Tigers varsity football team will kick off its 20242025 season against the Thorndale Bulldogs in an out-of-district matchup on Friday, Aug. 30. The Tigers faced the Bulldogs last season, securing a convincing 42-14 victory in one of their standout performances of 2023.
Thrall, coming off a 6-5 overall season, finished fourth in their district with a 4-4 record. In contrast, Thorndale went winless last year, ending with a 0-10 record and finishing at the bottom of their district. This game marks the Tigers' debut in the 3A-2 district after moving up from Class 2A-1 in 2023.
Thrall returns senior quarterback Chance Parker, who led a dynamic offense averaging 27.6 points per game last season. The Tigers also bring back seven offensive and seven defensive starters, including linebackers Tyler Ortiz and Travis Matthews, who combined for over 200 tackles in 2023.
For Thorndale, eight offensive and six defensive players return, with senior wide receiver Jayden Clawson and offensive linemen Parker Williams and Hayden Conner being key players. The Bulldogs will be led by starting quarterback Gunnar Ferguson.
The game will be played at Tiger Stadium in Thrall, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
