Thrall hosts Meet the Tigers

THRALL — Thrall Independent School District hosted a Meet the Tigers celebration Friday, Aug. 9 at the Thrall baseball field to introduce the band, cheerleaders, fall sports programs and more.

“It’s great to see everybody that comes out to support these young men and young women all year,” Thrall Athletic Director and football Head Coach Aaron Vanecek said. “As you can see, we’re fuller this year as we’ve added a fall sport with team tennis. We’ve got our normal crew plus them and we’re looking forward to an exceptional fall 2024 to kick off this school year.”

After the band and cheerleaders performed the fight song, The fall sports teams of Thrall introduced themselves with Tigers football, Tigerettes volleyball, cross country and team tennis.

There was also an ice cream social event after the Meet the Tigers festivities concluded.

Thrall football will continue practice this week and the varsity team will have its first preseason scrimmage Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at Granger High School.

Tigerettes volleyball was scheduled Tuesday night to have its regularseason opener at Lago Vista High School and will compete Aug. 15-17 at the Cameron Varsity Tournament. Thrall cross country will have its first meet of the season Saturday in Caldwell, while team tennis opens Aug. 21 at home in a match hosting Austin Northeast High School.
