Drug suspect faces new charges

A man out on bond for suspected narcotics violations landed in hot water again after Williamson County deputies arrested him on new drug charges.

Slade Brockman, 43, of Taylor, remained behind bars Friday after the Williamson County Organized Crime Unit and the K-9 detachment served a search warrant in the 900 block of Gilmore Street Tuesday, July 30, investigators said.

Brockman is charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams and unlawful possession of a gun. Bond is pending, according to county records. According to sheriff’s reports, Brockman is currently out on two felony bonds related to multiple charges of more than 4 grams of methamphetamine.

When deputies entered the property, they found a handgun and 18.8 grams of suspected cocaine, according to investigators.

“(The) arrest reinforces the importance of vigilant law enforcement,” Sheriff Mike Gleason said. “We will not tolerate criminal activity, and community protection is our top priority.”
