GEORGETOWN — When applying for jobs, many applicants only see the salary listed when deciding whether or not to apply, but Williamson County Human Resources wants residents to think about more than just the salary. Benefits, retirement and pay all contribute to an organization’s total compensation package. To provide a more accurate picture, Williamson County is rolling out new tools to provide the total compensation package being offered to job seekers and current employees on a user-friendly interface.
The county’s new total compensation estimator takes the salary, benefits, and retirement to show the total estimated annual compensation associated with each salary.
The benefits selection and biweekly cost estimator show your estimated bi-weekly benefit cost when it comes to health benefits and retirement. This includes the 7% county employees are required to set aside for retirement. Williamson County is one of 28 counties in Texas that provide a 250% retirement match once an employee is vested with the county. Vesting with Williamson County means an employee has provided eight years of service.
