The Blackshear/O.L. Price Ex-Students Association, in partnership with the Dickey Museum & Multipurpose Center will host the Back to School Summerfest and Agency Fair Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fannie Robinson Park pavilion, 206 Dolan St. in Taylor.
During the Summerfest, there will be a school supply giveaway
and teacher supply drive.
Registration for the school supplies is at 10 a.m. The giveaway will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Parents must register and be present with their children to receive school supplies.
Collection for the teacher drive includes colored cardstock, paper, colored copy paper, sticky notes, Sharpies, dry erase markers, pens, individual wrapped snacks, fidget toys and other school supplies.
The event is also an opportunity for non-profit agencies to engage with the community, showcase their services and provide families with valuable information.
Agencies are invited to participate by setting up booths with games, activities and information about their services. According to organizers, this is a chance to connect with families and make a positive impact in the community.
