GOOD NEWS

“ Shoutout to all the dedicated folks at Shepherds Heart Taylor who help clients deliver groceries to the cars in this heat. Always smiling and offering a kind word.”

— Cheryl Cornelius

“ This is a shout out to my friend ‘ Mitch’ Drummond. Many a time have I seen him pull up on his bicycle at the coffee shop, and the first thing he does is pick up a piece or two of trash that is laying out.

Because of this, now I pull a “ Mitch” and pick up trash, just like him.

Keep Taylor beautiful by pulling a “ Mitch” today.”

Shout out to New York Pizza. From the time I placed my order until we picked it up. Excellent service and food. The owner carried my order to the truck. Now that’s Service.”

“ I just witnessed the cutest thing. We are eating at Dairy Queen.

My little granddaughter went to the counter to get her treat from her kid’s meal and the woman at the counter came around and squatted to her level to take her order. In all her five years of life and our numerous lunch outings, I have never seen someone do this for her.

Katina, I really appreciate you. You know how to take care of your customers no matter the size. You made my day.”

— Jana Marshall Richards “ Our last championship match was a tear jerker. These two young ladies were having a fantastic and competitive match. One of the young ladies pulled a muscle and decided to continue to play through it.

Eventually she had to stop as the injury worsened.

As I was handing out the first and second place trophies, the winner handed her first place trophy to her opponent who retired.

Stating that she earned it through her fight.

This was the most pure act of sportsmanship in all my years of running this tournament and it was breathtaking.

Thank you both for being great ambassadors of tennis and setting examples of the proper way to conduct ourselves on the court.

Baila Wilson and Julie Crabb, I applaud you and the parents who shaped you into fine role models you’ve become.”
