Taylor City Manager Brian LaBorde announced that the city of Taylor has hired Daniel Seguin to be the new communications director.
Seguin has served as the director of communications and tourism for Jacksonville for almost three years.
Seguin, who grew up in east Texas, began his career in communications with TBG Solutions, Inc., a firm based in Tyler. Over his sixyear career with TBG Solutions, Seguin helped develop and manage web pages, created marketing materials and videos, managed the transition to a new Customer Relationship Management system, trained staff and developed and presented training programs for clients across the state.
Seguin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Political Science from East Texas Baptist University. He is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration from Texas A&M University. He is also a certified Public Communicator from Texas Christian University.
Seguin is a member of the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers, where he serves as a TAMIO teammate, specializing in small shop public information departments.
“We’re thrilled to have Daniel join our team,” LaBorde said. “His extensive experience will be a great attribute to our award-winning communications department. We look forward to his expertise in continuing to enhance the city’s communications goals and engagement with our residents and stakeholders.”
Seguin will be responsible for the oversight of the city’s communications department, which develops internal and external communications. He will oversee the city’s social media channels, media relations, website and marketing efforts. Additionally, he will play a key role in crisis communications and community engagement initiatives.
Seguin will make $110,00 a year, and will begin his duties with the city June 25.
