MAY 27
Carlos Sorto, 45, of Taylor, at 1:27 a.m., in the 500 block of W. Sixth St., officers placed Sorto under arrest, charging him with driving while intoxicated-third offense, a third-degree felony.
MAY 28
Jay Martinez, 44, of Taylor, at 3:20 p.m., in the 1100 block of Prather St., officers responded to a disturbance. An investigation revealed Martinez had moved to Taylor without registering as a sex offender. Martinez was placed under arrest and charged with fail to comply-sex offender registration, a state jail felony.
MAY 29
Austin Sumpter, 23, of Thrall, at 9:23 a.m., officers apprehended Sumpter, who had an outstanding warrant out of Taylor for burglary of habitation with commission of felony, a second-degree felony. On 5/27/24 at 11:35 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Donna Drive to a report of a man attempting to break into a residence. As officers were in route, Sumpter had gained entry into the home and had been shot by the homeowner. Sumpter was transported to a hospital for treatment. Taylor detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Sumpter, and on his release from treatment, Sumpter was placed under arrest by Taylor officers and transported to the Williamson County Jail.
MAY 30
Mira Stapleton, 24, of Taylor, at 12:07 p.m., in the 700 block of N. Main St., officers responded to a disturbance. An investigation revealed Stapleton was in possession of methamphetamine. Stapleton was placed under arrest and charged with possession of controlled substance, penalty group 1, over one gram, a thirddegree felony.
MAY 31
Thomas Holman, 59, of Taylor, at 10:24 p.m., in the 3700 block of E. Fourth St., officers placed Holman under arrest, charging him with driving while intoxicated-third or more offense, a state jail felony. Holman also had an outstanding warrant out of Williamson County for bond forfeiture-driving while intoxicated third or more offense, a state jail felony.
JUNE 1
Jeremy Howell, 27, of Taylor, at 10:34 p.m., in the 2800 block of Crystal Circle, officers apprehended Howell, who had two outstanding warrants out of Williamson County: 1) credit/ debit card fraud, a state jail felony, and 2) possession of marijuana, a class a misdemeanor.
