Summer is in full swing in the Taylor Press coverage area, which means sports camps are on their way for future Ducks, Hippos, Lions and Tigers.
Taylor is hosting its 2024 basketball camp Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June 20 at the Taylor High School gym.
The camp is meant for incoming second graders through incoming freshmen. The second through fifth grade camp will be at 1:30 to 3 p.m. each day, while the camp for hoopers entering sixth through ninth grade is 3:30 to 5 p.m. each day.
Registration for the basketball is $50.
On the gridiron, Taylor Independent School District is hosting its football camp July 29 and July 30 at the football stadium.
The camp for kindergarten through fifth grade students will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. both days, while the camp for sixth grade through eighth grade students is from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
It costs $30 to register a student for the football camp.
The camp had its tennis camp June 3-5 and its soccer camp May 30-June 1.
Thrall
Thrall will have a baseball camp for incoming third graders through incoming freshmen June 11-13 at the high school.
The camp will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and consist of coaches teaching hitting, defense and baserunning.
It costs $75 to register for the camp.
The Tigers will have a boys basketball camp for the same grade levels June 18-20 at the gym from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
Granger
Granger hosted softball and baseball camps last week.
Granger Independent School District began summer workouts for athletes Monday, June 3. The workouts last from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and take place throughout the majority of the summer.
