TAYLOR POLICE DEPARTMENT ARREST REPORT

It is important to note that an arrest should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MAY 6

Gemini Vela, 25, of Taylor, at 9:46 a.m., in the 3400 block of N. Main St., officers conducted a traffic stop on Vela, who was found to be in possession of 3.2 pounds of marijuana. Vela was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana over four ounces, less than five pounds, a state jail felony.

MAY 7

Robert Martinez, 32, of Taylor, at 6:30 a.m., Martinez arrived at the Taylor Police Department to self-surrender to an outstanding warrant. Martinez was taken into custody for duty on striking an unattended vehicle, a class B misdemeanor.

MAY 9

Mariana Quintero-Hernandez, 24, of Red Rock, at 9:43 p.m., in the block of 2200 W. Second St., officers responded to a report of children locked in a non-running vehicle for approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival officers observed three young children in the locked vehicle and that one was very distressed. While investigating, officers observed Quintero-Hernandez, mother of the children, to be intoxicated to the point she was a danger to herself and others. Quintero-Hernandez began to walk away from the scene and resisted when officers attempted to detain her. Quintero-Hernandez was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest/ detention, a class A misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a class C misdemeanor.

MAY 12

Jose Angel Gonzales, 33, of Taylor, at 10:09 a.m., in the 100 block N. Main St., Gonzales was observed by a Taylor officer who knew of three outstanding warrants held for him. As the officer attempted to detain Gonzales, he fled on foot. Gonzales was finally taken into custody in the 300 block of E. Pecan St. Gonzales was charged with evading arrest/ detention on foot – enhanced, a state jail felony. Gonzales was also taken into custody for the outstanding warrants charging as follows: evading arrest or detention – enhanced, state jail felony and two counts of criminal trespass, both class B misdemeanors.
