HUTTO – Last week, Hutto ISD Superintendent Celina Estrada Thomas served as a panelist for the Fast Growth School Coalition at the South by Southwest (SXSW) EDU to discuss student demographic trends.

Estrada Thomas explained that Hutto ISD ranks eighth in the Austin Metro Region in the terms of new construction with 22 active subdivisions and nine future developments on the way.

She also said Hutto ISD will grow 9.81% and is approaching 10,000 students. The enrollment is estimated to be 17,200 students by 2031. With the exception of Nadine Johnson and Howard Norman elementary schools, all Hutto ISD elementary schools will exceed capacity by 2026.
