Hutto ISD Names Teresa Hill as new Executive Director of Student Services

HUTTO — Hutto Independent School District recently announced the appointment of Teresa Hill as the new Executive Director of Student Services, a new leadership role which supports student and social services across the district.

Bringing more than two decades of experience in public education to the position, Hill was officially welcomed to Hutto ISD April 15, upon approval by the Board of Trustees. Under the leadership of Associate Superintendent of Instruction and Innovation Brittany Swanson, Hill will evaluate and provide leadership for the effective and efficient operation of the Student Services Department, including counseling services and health services, the special education department and will lead the implementation of student differentiated support in order to meet state and federal compliance requirements.

“With her blend of school and district-level experience, Ms. Hill is poised to weave together seamless support encompassing special education, student services, counseling and nursing,” Swanson said. “I am excited for Teresa to build on our existing foundations to bring a cohesive vision and organizational excellence, ensuring every student thrives within our school community.”

Hill brings 20 years of experience working in Title 1 public schools serving diverse, at-risk student populations, including 16 years experience serving in campus and district-based leadership positions. She also brings specialized training and experience with developing and aligning district and campuswide systems and teams together to improve student health, wellness and educational outcomes.

“I am excited to utilize my knowledge and experience in supporting the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child framework at Hutto ISD,” Hill said. “My aim is to empower every student, regardless of their background, to flourish by supporting them with the right challenges, a healthy environment, active engagement, a safe space and unwavering support.”

Prior to joining Hutto ISD, Hill served as Director of Student Services and Support, Director of Program Support and Guidance and Director of Curriculum and Guidance and Secondary Curriculum Coordinator at Elgin ISD, and was a District Math Specialist at Austin ISD and a Master Teacher in both Pflugerville and Round Rock ISDs.

Hill holds a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics and women’s studies from University of Vermont, a Master’s in education from Loyola Marymount University with a concentration in secondary education and completed the principal certification program with Lamar University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in learning and organizational change from Baylor University.
