PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD

MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD

The Taylor Main Street Advisory Board regularly meets the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The group carries out an annual action plan for a downtown revitalization program. Agendas are available at http://www.taylortx.gov.

PUBLIC ARTS ADVISORY BOARD

The Taylor Public Arts Advisory Board regularly meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. at City Hall. The group works to promote acquisitions of public art and to raise awareness, interest and funding for art in public places. Agendas are available at http:// www.taylortx.gov.

ANIMAL CONTROL APPEALS BOARD & SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Taylor committee, appointed by the City Council to assist the animal control officer and compliance needs, meets quarterly. For more information, visit http://www.taylortx.gov.

AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD

This five-member board makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the operations of the municipal airport and meets when necessary. For more information, visit http://www.taylortx. gov/514/airport.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT

The Commissioners Court meets every Tuesday morning in the Commissioners Courtroom, 710 Main St. in Georgetown. The meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. Court members set the agenda each week. The deadline for putting items on the agenda is Thursday at noon. Agendas are posted at http://www.wilco.org.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Heritage Square Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is typically every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Heritage Square, 400 N. Main St. in Taylor. For updates, visit https://www.facebook. com/heritagesquarefarmersmarket.

Third Thursday

Every third Thursday of each month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open past 5 until 8 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to shop locally and become familiar with the shops in the downtown area.

Run for the Roses 5K/10K

Saturday, Jan. 15 — The 9th Taylor Garden Run for the Roses 5K/10K will run rain or shine. There will also be a 1K Fun Run and Sleepwalker race.

The event benefits the Taylor Garden Club. Taylor Garden Club provides scholarships for youths who are pursuing careers in ecology, horticulture, landscaping, arbor and forestry studies and other career fields relating to growing things.

BW&W Blood Drive

Tuesday, Jan. 18 — Schedule your appointment at http://www.bswblood.com. Appointments are highly encouraged. Walk-ins will be accepted as space allows.

All blood donors in January will receive a limited edition gift. Baylor Scott & White employees will receive credit towards Donor Day Off. Photo identification is required to donate. Donors ages 18 or younger are required to show proof of age. Masks are required to be worn during appointment.
