GIDDINGS — The Taylor High School boys and girls varsity track and field teams competed April 2-3 at the 4A-District 22 meet hosted by Giddings High School and had numerous standout athletes advance to the upcoming area championship.
TAYLOR DUCKS
1st - Syris Corley in the discus with a mark of 137 feet one inch.
1st - Andrias Fisher in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet 9.5 inches.
1st - Syris Corley in the shot put with a mark of 48 feet 7.75 inches.
2nd - Ethan Flagg, Jackson Meller, Josh Mikulencak and Andrias Fisher in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 43.67 seconds.
2nd - Josh Mikulencak, Jackson Meller, Andrias Fisher and Ethan Flagg in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:31.01.
2nd - Treos Richardson, Josh Mikulencak, Jackson Meller and Andrias Fisher in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:32.67.
3rd - Jemarcus Seawood in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.96 seconds.
3rd - Treos Richardson in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.88 seconds.
4th - Emilio Arenas in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.76.
4th - Emilio Arenas in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:52.84.
TAYLOR LADY DUCKS
1st - Asia Zachary in the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet 9.5 inches.
1st - Asia Zachary in the high jump with a mark of five feet two inches.
2nd - Camryn Nunamaker in the shot put with a mark of 34 feet four inches.
2nd - Zari Thompson in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.73.
3rd - Angelee Philips, Tianna Candee, Zakaya Frederick and Asia Zachary in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 50.82 seconds.
3rd - Zari Thompson, Angelee Philips, Tianna Candee and Tessa Kopecky in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:15.11.
3rd - Asia Zachary in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.52 seconds.
4th - Zakaya Frederick in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.51 seconds.
4th - Tessa Kopecky in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.83 seconds.
4th - Madyson Mitchell in the shot put with a mark of 31 feet 5.5 inches.
4th - Tiana Candee in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet three inches.
The Ducks and Lady Ducks will next head to their 4A area track and field meet Wednesday, April 10 held at La Grange High School.
