LAGO VISTA — The Taylor Middle School track and field team competed Wednesday, April 3 at the district meet hosted by Lago Vista High School and with three record-breaking performances.

The Ducks eight-grade boys quartet of Damien Calico, Kale Orange, Angel Siguenza and Tristan Arroyo broke two TMS records in both the 4x100 and 4x200-meter relays. The 4x100-meter time was 45.79 seconds and the 4x200-meter time was 1:38.16, both placing first.

Calico, Orange, Siguenza and Arroyo broke the 4x100-meter record set back in 1999 by Arris Rossell, Keith Huff, Ben Westland and Xavier Wright of 46.16 seconds. They also edged out the 4x200-meter record from 2014 of 1:38.20 set in 2014 by Delane Hornsby, Joel Cruz, Miguel Torres and Paul Key.

In the seventh-grade girls 2,400-meter run, Araceli Mena placed first as her time of 9:59.12 broke the previous record of 10:03.34 set by Ashley Harmon back in 2000.
