MARLIN — The Thrall Tigerettes scored all the runs they would need in the first inning Friday, steamrolling the Chilton Lady Pirates 15-0 at neutral site Marlin High School.
Thrall scored all 15 of its runs in the top of the first inning, sending 19 batters to the plate. But the Tigerettes only managed six hits. Instead, they took advantage of six walks, four hit batters, and three Chilton errors.
Because of Chilton’s troubles in the circle, Thrall finished the night with just six runs batted in. Two of those came off the bat of Mikayla Velasquez.
Thrall was equally dominant in the circle. Miley Pokorny struck out the side in each of her three innings of work and needed just 34 pitches to shut down the Lady Pirates.
The win moved the Tigerettes to 15-6 on the season and even their District 27-2A record at 4-4. They are currently tied for fourth place with the Milano Lady Eagles.
Thrall played in Milano on Tuesday night to begin the second half of district play. The Lady Eagles took the first meeting 5-1 as Milano got a pair of home runs off Pokorny in the middle innings to erase a 1-0 Tigerettes lead.
