Another insight into what’s going on in the city of Taylor will be available this week.

The fourth episode of the Taylor Press video interview series with city of Taylor staff will be Monday, March 14, at noon on the Taylor Press Facebook page. LaShon Gros, Taylor municipal government’s human resources director, is the planned guest.

Gros was hired by Taylor in early 2021. She came from Killeen’s municipal government as a human resources generalist and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She is certified as a member in the Society in Human Resource Management.

“During the interview process, we knew right then and there LaShon was it,” said City Manager Brian LaBorde during her introduction Jan. 14, 2021. “She had really great ideas. She just needed a platform and an opportunity, and we’re more than happy to give that to her.”

The first three episodes featured LaBorde, Deputy City Manager Jeff Jenkins and Police Chief Henry Fluck. LaBorde and Jenkins talked about upcoming projects that the city will address, while Fluck talked about Taylor’s crime activity. The three officials also discussed possible new ways to connect to the community.

Last month, the Taylor Press recently encouraged followers on the newspaper’s Facebook page to name the show. The winning vote was for “Taylor Talk with Jason Hennington.”

“I hope the community becomes more involved in it and submits questions for whoever our guest is,” said Hennington.

To submit questions for guests after they are announced, email [email protected].

The show is scheduled to broadcast on the first Monday of every month at noon, with this month’s broadcast being an exception. The show complements the Taylor Press’ other live show, “Around the Watercooler,” which airs at 11:15 a.m. Thursdays and primarily covers local sports along with other topics.
