Two Williamson County Precinct 4 Constable deputies were honored last week for their quick response during a February breakfast.

Deputy David Moore and Deputy Ray Ogas were each given a life-saving award Wednesday, March 20.

Moore and Ogas were praised for their efforts Feb. 1 at Zapatas Restaurant, 1808 W. Second St.

According to a letter of recommendation, the duo noticed a family in distress. It appeared a 3-year-old girl in the restaurant was having trouble breathing.

After multiple efforts, Moore and Ogas dislodged whatever was in the child’s throat.

“I believe the quick lifesaving actions of Deputy Moore and Deputy Ogas saved the child from a bad situation and possible death,” Sgt. Bryan Bell said in a recommendation letter. “I am proud of both deputies and think they deserve accommodations for their actions.”

Constable Paul Leal said the deputies will be honored more formally at a later date.
