The Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce is hosting a conversation about regional growth Tuesday, April 23, at the Williamson County Expo Center.
Gear Up for Growth will look at the trends for companies and businesses moving to Eastern Williamson, Milam and Lee counties with an emphasis on what makes communities attractive to workers and their families.
“As our communities welcome businesses that will strengthen our economies and provide paths to prosperity to our children, we need to support them by attracting talent and new regional residents,” Taylor Chamber President and CEO Tia Rae Stone said.
“Studies have proven that people move to enhance the quality of their lives and prospects for their children’s education,” she continued. “This symposium will give us all food for thought from some experts and people currently in those fields.”
The Symposium will run 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a forward look on regional economic development from Dave Porter with the Williamson County Economic Partnership, a keynote from John Pattison, a community builder with Strong Towns, as well as panels on kindergarten through 12th grade education, quality of life and resources for small communities to assist with the stresses of growth.
