MANOR — The Taylor High School varsity softball team picked up its first 4A-District 22 win of the season Tuesday, March 19 on the road at Manor New Tech High School as the Lady Ducks were victorious in shutout fashion 11-0.

With a 5-0 lead heading into the sixth inning, the Lady Ducks put this game completely out of reach with a surge on offense. Kambri Oglesby hit a two-run double in the frame, while Camryn Nunamaker put an exclamation point on Taylor’s performance with a three-run home run to put the Lady Ducks comfortably ahead.

Nunamaker and Oglesby led the way with four and three RBI on the night, respectively, while Grace Yanez drove in a run and Katelyn Aderhold had two hits against the Lady Titans.

Anaih Arroyo pitched five scoreless innings for Taylor and had nine strikeouts and zero walks to pick up the win, while Oglesby struck out two batters in the final inning to preserve the shutout.

Taylor (1012 overall, 1-1 district record), under Head Coach McKensey Brentham, was scheduled to continue district play March 22 hosting La Grange High School and will remain home Monday, March 25 at 7 p.m. versus Giddings High School.
