Spring break is here, and parents can take their kids to the library this week for some activities.

On Monday, March 14, the movie “Toy Story” will be shown at 2 p.m. in a unique way. Children will have an interactive experience with props and actions throughout the movie.

Every time the character Woody appears on screen, children can make their cowboy doll reach for the sky. When “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” plays, you sing along. During the Andy’s party scene, you wave your streamers. Attendees are encouraged to come in dress-up clothes and bring their favorite toy to watch the movie with them.

There will also be events Tuesday and Thursday, March 15-16, at 10:30 a.m. each day. On Tuesday, families will have an opportunity to build a castle out of cardboard beginning. Wednesday will be the Preschool and Elementary Maker Fair, which will include a variety of projects. A truck petting zoo will then be in the library’s parking lot Thursday.

Friday will wrap up with a movie screening of “Encanto” at 2 p.m. The film was released by Disney last year.

The library is located at 801 Vance St. in Taylor. All events aside from the petting zoo will be in the library’s main meeting room. Advance registration is required for Monday’s through Wednesday’s events.

For more information or to register if necessary, call 512-352-3434.

TEEN CRAFT

Remember Shrinky Dinks? Older children will have a chance for library fun Wednesday, March 16, to do the retro craft. Teenagers can make a key chain, necklace, bracelet or earrings. They can trace a picture or draw their own. The event will be 2-3 p.m. Advance registration is required.
