Area hoopers play in all-star game

CEDAR PARK — Taylor High School and Hutto High School girls and boys basketball were represented Thursday, March 14 as five players and one coach were at the 2024 Central Texas High School All-Star Game held at H-E-B Center in Cedar Park.

In the girls game, Taylor was represented by Lady Ducks Head Coach Lawrence Bailey and his two standout senior players Asia Zachary and Ansley Reed. Zachary and Lady Hippos standout senior Alyssa Batton played on the same team and went against Reed and other top players from across the area.

The boys game had two star players play against each with Ducks senior Treos Richardson and Hippos senior Zachary Hicks.

Bailey is a two-time 4A-District 22 Coach of the Year winner, Zachary was the district Offensive Most Valuable Player, Reed and Batton were first-team selections in their respective districts, Richardson was a first-team pick and Hicks was a second-team selection.
