HUTTO — The Hutto High School girls varsity soccer team continued 6A-District 12 play Tuesday, March 5 as the Lady Hippos routed Copperas Cove High School 5-2 on senior night.
The Lady Hippos’ senior quartet was honored before the match with Kamila Aguilar, Shalie Hernandez, Cherlyn Quevedo and Mia Adame.
Hutto was led by junior Allison Bautista as she netted two goals, while the Lady Hippos also had one score apiece from sophomore Ashley Guild, freshman Samaya Williams and Maralys Johnson.
Guild had a team-high three assists against the Lady Bulldawgs and Hutto also got one assist each from Bautista and Johnson.
Hutto (9-7-2 overall, 6-3-1 district record), under Head Coach Courtney Mallon, will continue district action Monday, March 11 at 11 a.m. on the road against Bryan High School.
The Lady Hippos have won three matches in a row, including a 4-2 victory March 1 at Temple High School. Hutto currently sits as the No. 3 seed in the district standings with two regular-season matches left to be played.
