COPPERAS COVE — The Hutto High School boys varsity soccer team picked up its second dominant victory in a row Tuesday, March 5 as the Hippos went on the road blanked Copperas Cove High School 4-0.
Behind a complete team defensive effort, Hippos junior Jacob Bell led the way on offense for Hutto with a strong effort as he had a hat trick with three goals scored, while fellow junior Edmond Elone added a score of his own.
Hutto freshman Sebastian Gonzalez had a team-high two assists in the win over the Bulldogs, junior Selvin Sevilla had one assist and sophomore goalkeeper Matias Aguilar had a clean slate in the shutout victory.
The Hippos (6-3-6 overall, 4-2-4 record in 6A-District 12), under Head Coach Joshua Johnson, are scheduled Tuesday, March
12 to host Bryan High School for senior night. Hutto is currently the No. 3 seed in the district standings with two matches left on their schedule.
