Mustang Creek Golf Course was the site of a boys and girls golf tournament this week as Taylor High School, St. Mary’s Catholic School and Thrall High School had players compete.
TAYLOR DUCKS AND LADY DUCKS
The Lady Ducks placed first as a team Wednesday behind McKenzee Sunvison, Lacey Thompson, Caroline Tate and Ansley Reed. Sunvison shot a 96 and placed first amongst all girls in the field, while Lacey Thompson was second with a 97. The Ducks also had a solid outing Monday as Josh Mikulencak, Luke Thompson, Jake Mikulencak and Eamon Neas represented Taylor. Three Ducks shot in the 80’s with Josh Mikulencak placing third overall with a score of 82, Luke Thompson at 83 and Jake Mikulencak at 89.
ST. MARY’S RAMS AND LADY RAMS
The Rams competed Monday with Mikal Rethlake, CJ Williams, Joseph Barta, Kolbe Barta, Brady Altman, David Pena and Ethan Lively. Brady Altman had a solid day for St. Mary’s and shot an 89.
The Lady Rams were in action Wednesday with Leah Altman, Sydney Zimmerhanzel and Mercy Barta. Leah Altman placed third overall with a score of 100.
THRALL TIGERS AND TIGERETTES
The Tigers placed first overall as a team with Asa Gibbs, Tyler Shaw, Tristan Zeplin, Haydon Shuttles and
Taylor High School girls varsity golf sophomore McKenzee Sunvison tees off Wednesday, March 6 during the Taylor Tournament held at Mustang Creek Golf Course.
Photo by Andrew Salmi Maverick McAllister. Gibbs was the top individual boys golfer as he shot a 72, while Shaw and Zeplin shot in the 80’s with scores of 84 and 87 strokes, respectively.
The Tigerettes placed third overall as a team with Ashlie Kiel, Kinley Hoffman, Brenna Tucek, Molly Fisher and Lillian O’Neil. Kiel shot a 105 to lead Thrall.
