The Taylor High School boys varsity soccer team celebrated senior night Friday, March 1 and Los Patos got the job done at home with a 2-0 district victory over La Grange High School.
“Thanks to the fans who came and supported our Ducks tonight and for the fans who’ve been there all year,” Taylor Head Coach Greyson Wooten said. “We appreciate your support of Los Patos soccer.”
Taylor players and their families were honored before the match with David Cazares, Job Chairez-Ramirez, Jaime Martinez-Carreon, Isaac Castro, Oscar González, Nathan Alderete, Jose Romero, Aiden Crane and Jacob Chairez-Ramirez.
After a scoreless first half and with less than 29 minutes left in regulation, Los Patos got it going as Crane got the Ducks on the board with a goal off a deflection to make it 1-0.
Using strong team defense throughout the match, Taylor padded its lead late as junior Miguel Morales placed the ball in the top right corner for the score.
Taylor (10-7 overall, 8-2 4A-District 24 record) was scheduled March 5 for a highly anticipated match at Manor New Tech High School and will conclude the regular season Friday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. on the road at Caldwell High School.
