CALDWELL — The Taylor High School varsity softball team won two games throughout Feb. 22-24 as the Lady Ducks competed at the Caldwell Tournament.
TAYLOR LADY DUCKS 10, BVCHEA LADY MUSTANGS 4
Taylor scored 10 unanswered runs throughout two innings to defeat BVCHEA HomeSchool 10-4. The Lady Ducks were led by the duo of senior Camryn Nunamaker and freshman Anaih Arroyo, who both were a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI apiece. Taylor also got one run batted in each from senior Kayleigh Page, junior Elicia Martinez, sophomore Alayna Ortiz, sophomore Kambri Oglesby, freshman Enicia Quintanilla and freshman Ariana Concha.
TAYLOR LADY DUCKS 6, MADISONVILLE LADY MUSTANGS 4
Taylor got two runs in the second inning, faced a 4-2 deficit and then delivered four runs over the next two frames as the Lady Ducks picked up a 6-4 victory over Madisonville High School. The Lady Ducks got two RBI from Nunamaker and one apiece from Page, Ortiz and Quintanilla.
The Lady Ducks (6-7 overall record), under Head Coach McKensey Brentham, were scheduled Feb. 27 for a non-district road game at Pflugerville Hendrickson High School and will host beginning Feb. 29 the Taylor Tournament.
