Thrall ISD students tackle rodeo

AUSTIN — Photography and graphic design students from Thrall Independent School District brought home four champion banners from Rodeo Austin’s Youth Art Show held at the Palmer Events Center in Austin Friday, Feb. 2.

Their art was on display at the Rodeo Gala and will be sold in the Youth Auction March 23.

Mikayla Velasquez won senior champion in digital art, Kaylee Veit won senior champion in photography and placed third in senior digital art and Ava Finch was the senior reserve champion in senior digital art and placed third in senior photography.

This year Rodeo Austin opened a junior division and Thrall Middle School student Landon Widmer earned reserve champion in junior photography.

In total, 15 students from Christina Strnad’s graphic design and yearbook classes entered 19 pieces of photography and digital art.
