CALDWELL — The Taylor High School varsity tennis team was in action Friday, Feb. 16 as the Ducks and Lady Ducks continued spring season tournament matches at Caldwell High School.

In an all-Taylor girls doubles final, junior Maci Kennick and sophomore Rylee Michna faced junior Krista Randig and senior Abby Aplin and the duo of Michna and Kennick was victorious with an 8-3 triumph.

Taylor senior Julianna Gonzalez won girls singles, while fellow senior Miranda Fuentes came in third in her first-ever varsity singles tournament.

For the Ducks, it was the duo of Cameron Johnson and Jeremiah Ruiz who won the consolation finals in boys doubles and freshman Josh Meller won his first varsity singles match.

The Ducks and Lady Ducks varsity tennis programs under Head Coach Kevin Williams are set to host the Taylor Tournament this week. Matches are set to begin Thursday, Feb. 22 at 8 a.m. at the Taylor High School tennis courts.
