Tigerettes remain unbeaten in district

Addison Leschber had the big bat for the Tigerettes in their crushing win over Rosebud-Lott last Tuesday.

University of Minnesota signee Addison Leschber knocked out four hits and drove in four runs Tuesday night to lead the Thrall Tigerettes (9-7 overall, 2-0 District 27-2A) to a 15-4 rout of the Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars.

The Tigerettes drew first blood with a two-run single by Leschber. Two outs later, Autree Kelm drove in Leschber and Raelynn Johnson with an infield single that gave Thrall a 4-0 lead in the top of the first.

The Lady Cougars managed to cut the lead in half in the bottom half of the inning.  Rosebud-Lott knocked out a pair of doubles and took advantage of a Thrall error to push two runs across and cut the Tigerette lead to 4-2 after one.

Thrall answered with a run in the top of the second inning. McMurray University signee Aubrie Henderson doubled to leadoff the inning and scored on an error. Rosebud-Lott bounced back with a run of its own in the bottom half of the inning to make the score 5-3.

Following a scoreless third, the Tigerettes added a pair of runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to blow the game open. Thrall finished off its scoring with a six-run seventh to push the lead to 15-3.  Rosebud-Lott picked up one more run in the bottom half of the inning before Kelm and the Tigerettes retired the final three batters to seal the victory.

Leschber finished the night with four hits in five plate appearances and Henderson add three hits.  Kelm evened her season record at 2-2.  She went the distance for the Tigerettes and scattered 10 hits over seven innings.

The Tigerettes were scheduled to host the Thorndale Lady Dogs (4-4-2, 2-0) on Friday.
