Local students got to explore aspects of African culture last week.

Elizabeth Kahura, who was born in Kenya, presented her “African Safari” program to T. H. Johnson Elementary Friday, Feb. 16.

The young students were able to learn African music, dances, vocabulary, geography and more from Kahura. Some students got to role play in costume during the presentation.

The “African Safari” program is one way Taylor Independent School District has celebrated Black History Month so far, a social media post said.
