STEPHENVILLE — Tate Maruska will stay home and play college football.
On National Signing Day, Maruska signed to play with Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He will graduate from Stephenville High School in May.
Maruska is the son of Matt and Kendi Maruska. His father is a 1995 graduate of Taylor High School. He is the grandson of Gary and Annette Maruska, and the greatgrandson of Dorthy Newman, all of Taylor.
Maruska played varsity all four years, and holds the singleseason record for rushing yards with 2,098 in Stephenville High School history.
The Stephenville product was also allstate academic. He will study agribusiness upon arrival at Tarleton State University.
