Local receives service award at Reagan Dinner

SPECIAL TO THE PRESS

GEORGETOWN — A Taylor citizen was recognized at the Williamson County Republican Reagan Dinner held Friday, Feb. 9, at the Sheraton hotel in Georgetown.

Annette Maruska received the annual John R. Carter Distinguished Service Award. Rep. Carter, from Texas District 31, presented the award to Maruska.

The award is a lifetime achievement award that recognizes volunteers for long-term service in carrying the Republican Party interests across the finish line.

“This honor is only because of, and should be shared with, all our great patriots who support our East Williamson County Republican organization, who take time out of their busy schedules to attend our meetings, set up booths and help with fundraisers,” Maruska said. “We must continue to make our voices heard so we can make Texas and our country great again.”

She recognized the 30 members who attended the dinner along with Michael Prillaman, who helped her form the Williamson County Republican Party group.

Maruska and her husband Gary own and operate Aladdin Carpets and Taylor. She is currently the precinct chair for Precinct 427 and has served several years on the Taylor Planning and Zoning Commission.
