GOOD NEWS

BY ISABELLA TEBEAU

Let’s cheer each other on, and watch each other grow.

“I love my regulars so much. When you become my regular, it means that we have shared stories, know about each others lives, and you have become more than customers who only come and eat, we have now become friends.

Last week, I had three different tables whom did not know each other.

The interaction between them all, individually and together was truly beautiful and heartwarming.

My sweet friend came in with her friends to have their margaritas, and before she sat down I asked her excitedly, ‘Did you do it?’ She yelled, ‘I did it.’

Tears flooded my eyes because I know the struggle as a cancer survivor. She rang the bell. She wanted to share her day with me and it meant so much. But then, the most remarkable thing happened.

My Granger Lake Group joined in on the excitement and wanted to buy her drink. Then my other table having our very own angel of Taylor, Isabella Tebeau, popped up out of her booth and went to the lady who had finished her cancer treatment and congratulated her on her accomplishment.

The three tables suddenly became friendly and chatted. Laughs and tears were shared between what were strangers, but became the image of love and camaraderie.

It was touching. It was a stunning moment to behold. These people enrich my life beyond words. Watching them all come together to, unknowingly, create a show that multiple people in the building asked about, touched my heart beyond belief.

We all need people in our corner, cheering us on, no matter the relationship. I know that if strangers had reacted that way for anyone I know, it would have been the cherry on top.

I hope with all my heart that my lovely friend felt that. The compassion.

The grace. To carry on the good news and lovely evening, Isabella was touched to hear that her bill was paid. I suppose the takeaway from this evening was that kindness goes further than sometimes we could ever think. I like my job but I really love the people who remind me that this town is filled with some of the most amazing people I’ve ever known.

Thank you for letting me be part of your lives.”
