HUTTO — The Hutto High School boys varsity soccer team picked up its second win in 6A-District 12 play Friday, Feb. 9 as the Hippos surged to a 4-0 victory at home over Copperas Cove High School.

The Hippos were led by a strong defensive effort all night to keep the visiting Bulldawgs off the scoreboard. Hutto got its first goal of the match in the first half as sophomore Andy Millan got through the Copperas Cove defense and scored to give the Hippos a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Hutto kept the pressure on Copperas Cove with three more unanswered goals scored by freshman Sebastian Gonzalez, junior Selmon Sevilla and fellow junior Santiago Gonzalez-Guzman to put this match out of reach down the stretch.

Assisting on goals throughout the night for the Hippos were Gonzalez, junior Edmond Elone and sophomore Bob Niyonkuru.

Hutto (4-2-3 overall, 2-1-1 district record) under Head Coach Joshua Johnson are scheduled Feb. 13 for a road match at Bryan High School and will return home Friday, Feb. 16 at 7:15 p.m. to host district rival Pflugerville Weiss High School.
